Harteværket

Do you want a historic breather for your holiday or extended weekend, then Harteværket is definitely worth a visit. It opened in 2016 as an experience center. You get the opportunity to learn more about energy, see beautiful buildings and not the least “walk on water”. There is also a water playground and a trampoline park for the children. The plant dates back from 1918, and you will be able to sense that era during your visit.

So, there is plenty to see at Harteværket which is located on the outskirts of Kolding. In this area you will also be able to see beautiful nature. Bring a packed lunch and enjoy it in the wild or in the picnic house, which is made just for this.

Harteværket openinghours

Is a trip to Harteværket just the thing for you?

Then it is important to note, when the plant is open for visitors. Harteværket is normally only open during the high season (summer) and until the autumn holiday. Therefore, it will not be open for visitors if you go in the start of the year. Opening hours for the season are as follow;

  • In the pre-season (2/5-30/6), the post-season (17/8-18/10) and also applying to weekends and holidays, the opening hours are from 10 am to 4 pm.
  • On Thursdays in the pre- and post-season, from 9 am to 4 pm.
  • In the peak season (1/7-16/8) it is open for visitors every day from 10 am to 5 pm.
  • When we reach the autumn holiday in week 42, it is open for visitors every day from 7am to 3:30 pm.

However, it is always possible to book a guided tour. Likewise, the picnic house is open all year round if you want a place to eat while strolling through the beautiful scenery.

At Harteværket you also have the possibility to rent canoes, so you can go down the river and all the way into the city center. This is also possible to do all year round but keep the weather in mind. It is definitely the most fun, when there is not a cloud in the sky.
